Measure over light clothing, keeping the tape level and not tight. Chest at the fullest point, waist at the narrowest, hips at the widest.
Belts
Belt size is the total length of the strap, not your waist measurement. Choose the length that matches where you wear the belt.

The simplest method: measure a belt you already wear from the buckle pin to the hole you use, then pick the closest length.
